Legend has it that an Emperor went to pray near a lotus pond. Here a dream came to him to build a one-pillar pagoda, space inspired by the shape of a lotus flower in the 15th century. The temple was built of sandalwood and was believed to have space celestial powers, making wishes come true and bringing long lasting happiness, good luck and healing.
